Our People
Our staff are qualified professional members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with experience of the property markets across North and East Africa, the Gulf and Levant regions.
It is important to us that our clients understand the importance of RICS membership. There is no easy route to obtaining membership of the RICS. Candidates are typically required to study full time for five years before they sit a rigorous exam. RICS members are required to comply with the codes of practice issued by the RICS. The main function of these codes is to protect the consumer interest, and therefore promote client-confidence in the ability RICS members.
Richard Sweetman, the company’s founder, was previously employed by a global real estate consultancy as the head of their commercial valuation department within the MENA region, and also Manager of their Abu Dhabi office. He has practiced as a Chartered Surveyor in the United Kingdom, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and across all the Emirates within the UAE. Richard became qualified as a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2000. Between 1985 and 1997 Richard had a distinguished career as an officer in the British military where he undertook a variety of operational and training appointment worldwide.
Richard’s philosophy is to couple the “Can Do” mentality ingrained by a military career, with the professional ethics of the RICS, the whole being underpinned by a strong sense of integrity common to both professions.
